In December 2025 the consortium met in Getafe/Madrid (ESP) at project partner FIDAMC.
The project has reached a state, where the actual implementation of the individual processes is in full progress. The first batches of carbon fibre prepreg with the new vitrimer resin have already been sent to the partners and first trials on those have been performed, such as welding, lay-up and integration of sensors for structural health monitoring. All the remaining batches are produced currently by CIDETEC and will be ready shortly. Animated discussions were had about the scope of data produced by all the partners and the structure of the implementation into a manufacturing database. Detailed planning was done to maximize the efficiency of the interaction between partners, also taking into account the demonstration that will have to take place in about 6 months from now.
The meeting was very well organized by our hosts and provided a good opportunity to visit the production facilities of FIDAMC where the consortium could also observe the lay-up of vitrimer based prepreg in action. The meeting was rounded off by a guided walking tour of Madrid’s city centre, including a visit to the Puerta de Alcalá.
